Sure, doubt and faith can coexist but only if we’re not paying attention. Otherwise, it is impossible to say you have faith and at the same time have doubts about whatever it is you’re doubting, no? You might ask, what then is the point of our faith if we’re not going to stand on it? Questioning rather than doubting ourselves is a reality check that works to bring us back to the truth.
It’s sometimes difficult to cling to our faith when it seems that everything around us is falling apart. Boy, do I know the feeling! Doubt can rear its ugly head when we are least expecting it. We get overwhelmed, breathless, frightened, fearful, etc., and yes, it’s easy to forget. When that happens to me – I stand up! Literally. And I get simply moving. Just walking outdoors brings on the faith in us that we may have forgotten that is always there waiting for us to claim.
SING THE “SHAKE THE DEVIL OFF” SONG
I remember a song I heard at church one time of a little three year old boy singing. The song was called “shake the devil off”. So he’s standing up front and shaking his arms, legs, head, face to show us how to shake the devil off. As hilarious as it was at the time, the suggestion was not lost on me. It still works. That is when I remember to stand. It sure does shake the devil off!
NEGATIVE THINKING IS A LUXURY WE CAN’T AFFORD
I’ve noticed that when I’m beginning to dwell in the luxury of negative thinking, the first thing I have to do is get up so that the devil does not have any chance whatsoever to plant any suggestions contrary to God’s word of Truth. Negative thinking is a luxury that I think none of us can afford to dwell in. Yes?
Another way to “shake the devil off” is to listen to faith-based music such as K-LOVE, or other music videos such as one I’ve recently put up. You can find it at: https://mustardseedfaith24x7.com/mustardseedfaithband/
